Peace – The 3rd Fruit of the Holy Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22).

These other superior qualities that we need to operate in our lives, especially with all the uncertainties in life that we never know what will happen. The world is no longer as safe as before; many companies went bankrupt; unemployment is everywhere. Half of all marriages end in divorce. We are all forced to live under the threat of terrorist activity in the future – never knowing when or where the next attack will come from.

With all kinds of activities increasing we are all forced to deal every day, it becomes easy to lose your sense of peace – especially your peace in God. Again, this is one of the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit can help you take some leeway if you begin to lose your sense of peace because of the storm clouds that can hit you.

Realize the Holy Spirit has His peace to give to you and He can give it to you abundantly.

I discovered that once His peace begins to flow into your mind, soul, and personality, it is as the Bible says – a peace that transcends all human understanding – especially when that peace comes right in the middle of a great storm you are experiencing.

Here is how the quality of peace explained in several different dictionaries and Bible comments:

The presence and experience of right relationships

The tranquility of soul

The sense of well-being and fulfillment that comes from God and depends on His presence

The inner tranquility and serenity of Christians whose belief in God through Christ

Tranquility, rest, harmony, absence of agitation or strife

The quality of peace must be one of the main attributes that you must try and get into your soul through the Holy Spirit in the process of sanctification. Without the peace of God that operates in your life, you can easily be rattled, shaken, tormented, and just thrown from your game in God the first time all difficulties confront you.
