9 Fruit of the Holy Spirit
You will see one Bible verse that I will give in this article – one extraordinary poem that will tell you that Father God wants to send nine pieces of the Holy Spirit into our personality.
The first three articles that we have listed in the sanctification section all set the stage for what God wants to do with each of us. God wants us all to enter into the process of sanctification with Him, so He can begin the process of printing, forming, and transforming us into the image of His Son Jesus Christ. He wants to make us more holy like Him and Jesus. He wants to change us by renewing our minds. He wants to put the right thoughts into our thought processes.
In the first article, we have listed under this section entitled “Sanctification,” I give you particular verses from the Bible that show you that through the power of the Holy Spirit this process of sanctification is done with you in this life. However, you will not be a passive robot in all this. You must be willing to work in collaboration with the Holy Spirit as soon as He starts the process within yourself.
Your job is to enter into the Word to know precisely what God wants to change from you. You need to find out what traits God wants you to try and “put” into your personality and what qualities He wants you to “get rid of.”
This article will be the first of a series of articles that give you all the right Bible verses that show you correctly what qualities and attributes God wants to complete in your personality and what conditions he intends to pull out of you.
Also, there is no better place to start this series of articles than with the nine pieces of the Holy Spirit if you want to start by pressing down on some of the more positive qualities that God wants to improve in your personality – really learning and meditating on these nine unique qualities.
When God, the Father deliberately isolates and describes the nine unique qualities that will come directly from His Holy Spirit – He tells you how important these nine fruits are. These nine fruits are the main fruits and traits that come directly from God, and every Christian must do his best to work with the Holy Spirit in making these nine fruits work in his personality.
First, I will start by showing each of these nine specific fruits so that you can have them at the top of this article. I will then give you a Bible verse that these nine fruits come from. I will then make a brief comment about each of these fruits so that you can fully understand what each of these fruits is and how they can dramatically change the quality of your life and your situation if you are willing to allow the Holy Spirit to begin working on the nine this fruit into your mind, soul, and personality.
These are the nine pieces of the Holy Spirit.
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Longsuffering
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control
Now here is a particular verse from the Scriptures where these nine fruits originate:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22).
Before I go into relevant comments about what each of these fruits is about, pay attention to the following:
- The word “Spirit” is in capital letters “S” – which means that these nine fruits come directly from the Holy Spirit – not from us.
- The meaning is that God’s love, God’s peace, God’s joy, and God’s goodness can begin to transmit into your personality. These are His attributes and personality traits that will start to flow and unite with the core of your personality. Think about the consequences – that God the Father Himself allows us to share in part of His divine nature by allowing His Holy Spirit to transmit and give these nine qualities directly into our souls and personalities!
That is why God the Father explicitly tells us in this verse that these nine fruits come directly from the Holy Spirit – so we can fully appreciate the magnitude of such experiences.
Jesus has told us that He is the vine, and we are the branches. Branches take their lives from the vine – not the other way around. Just as a chapter takes its life from the vine – so too, we take our lives directly from Jesus. Jesus will release His life to us through the Holy Spirit in the same way as the vine will release the life of the tree to the branches.
In one short verse, but very strong from the Scriptures, God the Father gives us all extraordinary revelations about what can happen behind the scenes in the spiritual world for those who are willing to work with Him in this sanctification process.
